The Bullet-
The Berger VLD Hunting bullet line features Very Low Drag (VLD) bullets that have the highest possible ballistic coefficient designed for 300 yards or more, the design incorporates a sharp nose that allows the bullet to penetrate 2″ to 3″ before it starts to expand. 7mm-08 150 Grain Nosler AccuBond~ The 7mm-08 Remington works in most hunting environments, including dense forest areas and large open fields. Of cartridges based upon the .308, it is the second most popular behind only the .243 Winchester. It has a flatter trajectory than the .308 Win. and .30-06 Springfield at similar bullet weights because the slightly smaller-diameter 7mm bullet generally has a better ballistic coefficient (BC), and is thus less affected by drag and crosswind while in flight. Its trajectory is comparable to the .270 Winchester.
Its recoil is a bit more than a .243 Win. and less than most loads in a .308 Win. This mild recoil makes it suitable for youth and adults who are new shooters; however, the cartridge serves experienced shooters and hunters equally well.

It is one of the original standard length magnums developed by shortening the .375 H&H Magnum case to approx. 2.5 in (64 mm). Of the cartridges developed by Roy Weatherby in 1944, the .257 Weatherby Magnum was known to have been his favorite, and the cartridge currently ranks third in Weatherby cartridge sales, after the .30-378 Weatherby Magnum and the .300 Weatherby Magnum.
The .257 Weatherby Magnum is among one of the flattest shooting commercial cartridges. The .257 Weatherby Magnum shares the same cartridge case as the .270 Weatherby Magnum and the 7mm Weatherby Magnum. The .30 Super Belted Rimless H&H manufactured by Winchester served as the direct parent cartridge for the case design. The .257 Weatherby Magnum was one of the first cartridges which used the shortened, blown out and necked down .375 H&H Magnum case and served as the forerunner to the standard length magnum cartridges such as the 7mm Remington Magnum and the .338 Winchester Magnum. The Bullet-
The Berger VLD design incorporates a sharp nose that allows the bullet to penetrate 2″ to 3″ before it starts to expand. After the initial expansion, the bullet will shed between 40% and 85% of its weight as shrapnel into the surrounding tissue (internal organs). The combination between the shrapnel and the hydrostatic shock produces a massive wound cavity within the vital area that will be 13″ – 15″ long. 28 Nosler 195 Berger Extreme Outer Limits (EOL) Elite Hunter- The 28 Nosler is a 7mm (.284″) caliber, rebated-rim centerfire rifle cartridge designed by Nosler. Introduced in 2015 and approved by SAAMI on January 19, 2015. It is the second cartridge designed by Nosler. The name 28 Nosler refers to the first two digits in the caliber (0.284″) of the bullets that the cartridge fires and the name of the company which created it. The .28 Nosler is essentially a shortened version of the 7mm Remington Ultra Magnum.
The 28 Nosler is based on the 26 Nosler which was released in 2014. The 28 Nosler shares the same overall cartridge length (3.340″) as the 26 Nosler which allows it to be chambered in standard-length action. This feature helps weight-conscious sportsmen to lighten their load before venturing into the backcountry. The cases’ overall length also aid in quick follow-up shots, since the bolt throw is shorter than on a magnum action. All four of Nosler’s Cartridges the 26 Nosler, 28 Nosler, .30 Nosler, and the .33 Nosler are based on the same .404 Jeffery parent case. The .257 Weatherby Magnum is among one of the flattest shooting commercial cartridges. .280 caliber Remington 145 Grain Barnes LRX (lead free)~ The .280 Remington, also known as the 7mm-06 Remington and 7mm Express Remington, was introduced in 1957 for several Remington models. The .280 is based on the .30-06 necked down to accept 7 mm bullets, with the neck moved forward .050 in (1.27mm). Winchester’s Model 70, model 100 and Model 88 rifles were subsequently chambered for the new cartridge. The .308 Winchester is one of the most popular hunting cartridges in the United States, and possibly the world. It has gained popularity in many countries as an exceptional cartridge for game in the medium- to large-sized class. The Roberts .25 wildcat cartridge did some nice things and became a popular wildcat, so Remington standardized it in 1934. The commercial Remington version of the .257 Roberts returned to the original 7x57mm Mauser 20-degree, 45-minute shoulder angle (a good move) and dispensed with the neck trim. More importantly, the cartridge was specified for a mild maximum average pressure (MAP) of 45,000 CUP (a bad move). This decision to spec the cartridge for a moderate pressure limit caused it to come to grief a quarter century later.
The .257 Roberts was the premier combination varmint/deer cartridge until the .243 Winchester and .244 Remington were introduced in 1955. These cartridges were highly touted by Warren Page, the Shooting Editor at Field & Stream magazine, and appeared to be ballistically superior to the .257 Roberts. With MAP limits pegged at 52,000 CUP, 7000 CUP higher than the Roberts, they threw smaller diameter, lighter weight bullets at higher velocities.
Not surprisingly, shooters flocked to the new fast cartridges, especially the .243 Winchester. (The .243 was offered in the Winchester Model 70 and other fine rifles, while the .244 was offered in the clunky Remington Model 722.) The .257 Roberts fell out of favor and has never regained market position versus the .243 Winchester.

.308 Winchester 178 Grain Hornady BTHP Match~ The .308 Winchester is a rimless, bottlenecked rifle cartridge and is the commercial cartridge from which the 7.62x51mm NATO round was derived. The .308 Winchester was introduced in 1952, two years prior to the NATO adoption of the 7.62×51mm NATO T65. Winchester branded the cartridge and introduced it to the commercial hunting market as the .308 Winchester. Winchester’s Model 70, Model 100 and Model 88 rifles were subsequently chambered for the new cartridge. The Bullet-
The Berger VLD design incorporates a sharp nose that allows the bullet to penetrate 2″ to 3″ before it starts to expand. After the initial expansion, the bullet will shed between 40% and 85% of its weight as shrapnel into the surrounding tissue (internal organs). The combination between the shrapnel and the hydrostatic shock produces a massive wound cavity within the vital area that will be 13″ – 15″ long. This massive wound cavity results in the animal dropping fast since most go into shock after such a tremendous blow. Those animals that don’t go down immediately will soon succumb to blood pressure loss and/or organ failure producing a quick ethical kill.
