The .22-250 is currently the second-fastest production cartridge in the world, surpassing the .204 Ruger, at 4,450 feet per second.[11] but still behind the .220 Swift.
It is particularly popular in the western states of the US, where high winds often hinder the effectiveness of other varmint rounds in prairie dog hunting. Many states in the US have minimum-caliber restrictions on larger game such as deer, although most states do allow the cartridge to be used for big game.
Choice Ammunition loads the 22-250 with the same 100% hand-loading techniques as our other calibers. Our loading techniques and extremely tight tolerances are only matched by passionate hand-loaders in their own loading rooms. Our consistencies box to box and lot to lot, are created by continuous testing at the range- adjusting varied powder and brass lot formulas to match exact velocities and points of impact as the last time we loaded this caliber. Exact seating depths and our proprietary load formulas produce a round of ammunition you can count on for accuracy and dependability each and every time- and at that critical moment in the field when it all comes down to the shot!
The Bullet-
The Hornady InterLock is designed to be a devastating hunting bullet and nothing less. The InterLock Ring – a Hornady exclusive – ensures that the core and jacket remain locked during expansion. The InterLock retains more mass, energy and momentum after impact and transfers that energy to the target. Its reliable stopping power has earned the InterLock a worldwide reputation as a bullet for serious hunters.

In these challenging times in our industry, things change quickly. One day, we are well stocked up on an item, and the next day, we could be out. We are doing everything possible to hand-load our ammunition and get products shipped in a timely manner, but we cannot simply turn machines up like the “factories” do!
