.375 Ruger 250 grain Barnes TTSX (Lead Free)-Ā TheĀ .375 RugerĀ is a rimless, standard-length rifleĀ cartridgeĀ designed for the hunting of large dangerous game. It is designed to provide an increase in performance over theĀ .375 H&HĀ cartridge, yet to be chambered in a standard length action rifle. The .375 Ruger uses a unique case designed by Hornady and RugerĀ and was released commercially in 2007.Ā The case is of a rimless design having the base and rim diameter of .532Ā in (13.5Ā mm) which is the same diameter of the belt on belted magnum cases based on theĀ .300 H&H MagnumĀ andĀ .375 H&H Magnum. This allows the cartridge to have a greater case capacity than a belted magnum case given cases of equal length. As Ruger intended the cartridge to be chambered in standard length bolt-action riflesĀ the case length was kept to 2.580Ā inch, which is only .04Ā in longer than theĀ .270 WinchesterĀ case.

The maximum overall length of the cartridge is 3.340Ā in (84.8Ā mm) which is similar to the maximum overall length to standard length cartridges such as theĀ .338 Winchester MagnumĀ or theĀ .30-06 Springfield. Unlike Remington Ultra Magnum cartridges, the Ruger Magnums can be chambered in standard length bolt-action rifles. This allowed Ruger to chamber the cartridge without extensively redesigning their M77 rifle to adopt them to the new Ruger cartridge.

While the .375 H&H Magnum is longer than the .375 Ruger, the latter cartridge has a greater case capacity than the Holland & Holland cartridge. This is due to the .375 H&H Magnum having a long tapered body while the .375 Ruger follows modern cartridge designs in that it has very little taper and a sharper shoulder. The case capacity of the .375 Ruger is 99.0 gr. of water (6.43Ā cm3) while the .375 H&H Magnum has a case capacity of 95.3 gr. of water (6.19Ā cm3), an increase of 4%.Ā The .375 Ruger’s slightly greater case capacity, and the “short fat” cartridge efficiency lead to increases in the neighborhood of 150 fps over the H&H cartridge.

Like the .375 H&H, the .375 Ruger is an incredibly versatile cartridge. Our loads will produce well in excess of 4,500Ā foot pounds of energy, the cartridge meets the legal requirements to hunt members of theĀ African Big 5Ā and other species of dangerous game in virtually every country in the world. It is absolutely deadly on a wide range of animals varying in size from whitetail deer all the way up to elephant. The heavierĀ  300gr loads are particularly versatile and are wellĀ suited both for larger game likeĀ water buffalo, cape buffalo, brown bear, grizzly bear,Ā moose, and eland as well as small/medium sized game like impala, wildebeest, deer, feral hogs, andĀ black bear.

The Bullet-

100-PERCENT COPPER BODY

Since its introduction in 2003, Barnesā€™ TSX Bullet has earned a reputation as ā€œthe perfect hunting bullet.ā€ Now, Barnes has improved on perfection by adding a streamlined polymer tip. The new Tipped TSX features the same 100-percent copper body with multiple rings cut into the shank. It delivers the same gnatā€™s-eyelash accuracy and ā€œdead right thereā€ performanceā€”but with an added polymer tip that boosts BC and improves long-range ballistics. The tip and a re-engineered nose cavity provide even faster expansion. Complete penetration, virtually 100-percent weight retention and four razor-sharp cutting petals that double bullet diameter means the new Tipped TSX creates more internal damage than any competing bullet. Instant expansion and perfect penetration ensures cleaner, quicker kills.

  • .375 H&H Magnum 300 Grain Cutting Edge Solids-Ā TheĀ .375 Holland & Holland MagnumĀ is a medium-boreĀ rifle cartridge. The .375 H&H was only the second cartridge ever to feature aĀ belt, now common among magnum rounds.Ā On these new rimless cartridges the belt replaced the rim in ensuring the correct headspaceĀ which otherwise might be unreliable, given the narrow shoulder of the cartridge case.Ā The British companyĀ Holland & HollandĀ introduced the cartridge in 1912 as theĀ .375 Belted Rimless Nitro-Express.

The .375 H&H Magnum is one of the most versatile cartridges and is referred to by Jack Oā€™Connor as the ā€œQueen of the Medium Boresā€.Ā The cartridge is very popular in Africa where it is considered one of the best all-round rifle cartridges. It is capable of taking any big species including all the Big Five game animals.Ā The big game hunter,Ā John ā€œPondoroā€ Taylor, held the .375 H&H Magnum in such high esteem that he dedicated a chapter in the bookĀ African Rifles and Cartridges.

Ammunition loaded with the 300Ā gr or heavier bullet the .375 H&H is adequate for heavy thick skinned dangerous game such as elephant and rhinoceros in most conditions. There is some speculation that the .375 H&H Magnum has been used to take more Big Five game than any other cartridge.Ā Even today, many professional hunters, outfitters and wildlife management personnel in Africa continue to rely on the .375 H&H Magnum to carry out their duties throughout the continent.

Choice Ammunition meticulously hand-loads 100% of our ammunition to insure superior performance, accuracy and reliability. These 300 grain Cutting Edge Solids for the 375 H&H are ideal for most dangerous game and large bodied animals. Donā€™t compromise with ā€œFactoryā€ ammunition when it really counts! Choice Ammunition utilizes only the finest components and proprietary loading formulas meticulously assembled with temperature insensitiveĀ powders. This insures whereverĀ your travels may take you- you can depend on our premium ammunition successfully to close out your hunt.
