Description
.270 WinchesterĀ 130 Grain Nosler AccuBond~Ā TheĀ .270 WinchesterĀ (or 6.8Ć64mm) was developed byĀ Winchester Repeating Arms CompanyĀ in 1923 and unveiled in 1925 as a chambering for theirĀ bolt-actionĀ Model 54.Ā The cartridge is aĀ necked downĀ .30-03, which is the same length as theĀ .280 Remington, both of which are longer than theĀ .30-06 Springfield.Ā The .270 Winchester became a very popular cartridge due to the widespread praises of gunwriters like Townsend Whelen andĀ Jack OāConnorĀ who used the cartridge for 40 years and touted its merits in the pages ofĀ Outdoor Life.Ā The cartridge demonstrated high performance at the time of its introduction and was marketed as being suitable for big game shooting in the 270 to 460 metres (300 to 500Ā yd) range. Two additional bullet weights were soon introduced: a 6.5 grams (100Ā gr) hollow-point bullet forĀ varmintĀ shooting, and a 9.7 grams (150Ā gr) bullet for largerĀ deer,Ā elk, andĀ mooseĀ in big-game hunting.

The Bullet
Through an exclusive bonding process that eliminates voids in the bullet core, Nosler AccuBond couples Noslerās proven copper-alloy jacket with its special lead-alloy core. The result is a bullet that flies true, penetrates deep and retains its weight, without causing extensive barrel fouling. The unique white polymer tip resists deforming and initiates expansion on impact. Noslerās Solid Base at the rear of the bullet acts as a platform for large diameter mushrooms.
