Description
.30-30 Winchester 170 Grain Nosler Partition~ The .30-30 Winchester/.30 Winchester Center Fire (7.8×51mmR) cartridge was first marketed in early 1895 for the Winchester Model 1894 lever-action rifle. The .30-30 (thirty-thirty), as it is most commonly known, was the USA’s first small-bore, sporting rifle cartridge designed for smokeless powder. The .30-30 is considered to be the “entry-class” for modern big-game hunting cartridges, and it is common to define the characteristics of cartridges with similar ballistics as being in “.30-30 class” when describing their trajectory. While it is very effective on deer-sized and black bear-sized game, most commercial loadings are limited in effective range to about 200 yd (183 m) for that purpose, except when using ballistic-tip ammunition.
Choice Ammunition has taken our 100% hand-loading techniques and produce an extremely accurate, highly dependable round for the 30-30 in this load. Our loading tolerances are only matched by passionate hand-loaders in their own loading rooms. Consistent seating depths, powder charges and proprietary formulas of Choice Ammunition, make this 170 grain Nosler Partition round the best you can buy on the commercial market today.
Partition Bullets feature a fully tapered jacket that ruptures instantly at the thin jacket mouth, yet the gradual thickening along the bullet’s axis controls expansion and curls the jacket uniformly outward at high or low velocities. Nosler’s integral Partition supports the expanded mushroom and retains the rear lead alloy core. The enclosed rear core retains more than half the original bullet weight for deep penetration. The special crimp locks in the rear core section, adding strength to resist deformation under the pressure of heavy magnums. This makes this round no match for Deer, Sheep, Pronghorn and Black Bear and other medium-sized game.
