6.5 Creedmoor 140 Grain Berger VLD-Hunting~ The 6.5mm Creedmoor, designated 6.5 Creedmoor by SAAMI, is a centerfire rifle cartridge introduced in 2007 as a modification of the .30 TC, which was based on the .308 Winchester. It was designed specifically for long-range target shooting, although it is also achieving success in game hunting. Bullet for bullet, the 6.5mm Creedmoor achieves a slower muzzle velocity than longer cartridges such as the 6.5-284 Norma or magnum cartridges such as the 6.5mm Remington Magnum. However, due to its 2.825 inches (71.8 mm) overall length, it is capable of being chambered in short-action bolt-action rifles and AR-10 semi-automatic rifles.

Long-range shooter Ray “RayDog” Sanchez summarized the bolt-action Tubb 2000 rifle in 6.5mm Creedmoor as “boringly accurate” at 1,000 yards (910 m). He asserted the rifle and ammunition combination he used was able to maintain sub-MOA groups at 1000 yards.

Our 100% Hand-Loaded 140 grain Berger VLD-Hunting rounds are loaded with extremely tight tolerances, producing highly accurate, consistent and reliable performance with each and every shot! The Berger VLD Hunting bullet line features Very Low Drag (VLD) bullets that have the highest possible ballistic coefficient designed for 300 yards or more, the design incorporates a sharp nose that allows the bullet to penetrate 2″ to 3″ before it starts to expand. After the initial expansion, the bullet will shed between 40% and 85% of its weight as shrapnel into the surrounding tissue (internal organs). The combination between the shrapnel and the hydrostatic shock produces a massive wound cavity within the vital area that will be 13″ – 15″ long. This massive wound cavity results in the animal dropping fast since most go into shock after such a tremendous blow. Those animals that don’t go down immediately will soon succumb to blood pressure loss and/or organ failure producing a quick ethical kill.

    The Bullet-

    Image result for eld-x bullets

The Heat Shield tip of the Hornady ELD-X bullet defies the effects of aerodynamic heating and retains its shape to provide a perfect meplat (tip) that is always the same shape. A streamlined secant ogive with optimum boattail design, plus the highly concentric AMP bullet jackets, combined with the patent pending Heat Shield tip creates a supremely accurate, high BC match bullet. ELD-Match bullet BCs are measured with Doppler radar and corrected to standard atmospheric conditions. With high velocity, 0-400 yard impact, the bullet continually expands throughout its penetration path. The thick shank of the jacket and high Interlock ring keep the core and jacket together providing 50-60% weight retention. Upon low velocity, 400+ yard impacts, the Heat Shield tip drives backward into the bullet to initiate expansion. Exhibiting conventional expansion with a large mushroom and 85-90% retained weight the bullet provides deep penetration and large wound cavities.

Through an exclusive bonding process that eliminates voids in the bullet core, AccuBond couples Nosler’s proven copper-alloy jacket with its special lead-alloy core. The result is a bullet that flies true, penetrates deep and retains its weight, without causing extensive barrel fouling. The unique white polymer tip resists deforming and initiates expansion on impact. Nosler’s Solid Base at the rear of the bullet acts as a platform for large diameter mushrooms.

    100-PERCENT COPPER BODY

Since its introduction in 2003, Barnes’ TSX Bullet has earned a reputation as “the perfect hunting bullet.” Now, Barnes has improved on perfection by adding a streamlined polymer tip. The new Tipped TSX features the same 100-percent copper body with multiple rings cut into the shank. It delivers the same gnat’s-eyelash accuracy and “dead right there” performance—but with an added polymer tip that boosts BC and improves long-range ballistics. The tip and a re-engineered nose cavity provide even faster expansion. Complete penetration, virtually 100-percent weight retention and four razor-sharp cutting petals that double bullet diameter means the new Tipped TSX creates more internal damage than any competing bullet. Instant expansion and perfect penetration ensures cleaner, quicker kills.

Thank you for visiting Choice Ammunition!Home of Premium Ammunition- 100% Hand-Loaded in Western Montana.

As you may know, the ammunition and firearms industry is experiencing unprecedented times beginning with COVID 19 coming from China in early 2020. Some talked of defunding police departments about the same time, even as riots and lawlessness raged on in our cities with unrest. We then saw a very contentious presidential campaign and ultimately- an inauguration of what could be a very unfriendly 2nd Amendment administration controlling both houses of Congress. For these reasons and more, we see demand at all time highs in the industry, in addition to mass shortages of components. I personally do not see things changing any time soon either...

With this, we are doing everything possible to hand-load and get products shipped in a timely manner, but we cannot simply turn machines up like others! Any back-orders on this website that we allow, we feel will ship in a reasonable period of time and we are averaging about 2-3 weeks presently. However, we are reliant on our suppliers to deliver components to us also, and that can unexpectedly be delayed on occasion. When this happens, it is possible to see 30-60 days, and sometimes more- to get ammunition sent out to you. Please know, all backorders will be filled at the price you purchased the ammunition for. If you find something elsewhere- we are happy to cancel any order.

We try to answer all office calls and prefer calls over emails or social media. We ask you to please refrain from calling or changing your order unless it is absolutely necessary- keeping in mind the time-frames I mentioned above. Every call we answer removes the focus on sourcing components and loading/shipping your ammunition!  We promise to get your order out as soon as we possibly can- yet, ask that you please understand this crazy market we are all in- if indeed you are delayed!

We do not believe in price gouging or increasing margins in a market such as this- and we will do everything possible to remain competitive with “factory” ammo, while providing our premium hand-loaded ammunition to the market. It does appear that prices may increase this year however, as there is much volatility in pricing for our brass, bullets, powder and primers.

Thank you for considering Choice Ammunition if you are a new customer- and thank you for another order if you are returning. We truly appreciate all of you and have built our business from going the extra mile with our products and for our customers!
