6.5 PRC 120 Grain Barnes Tipped Triple Shock TTSX (Lead Free)- This short-action magnum cartridge – 6.5 PRC – is an excellent hunting and long-range target cartridge.

Over a century after Scandinavia discovered the merits of 6.5mm projectiles, the United States has finally caught on. And just perhaps, the 6.5mm Precision Rifle Cartridge (6.5 PRC) is the finest all-around one.  The 6.5 PRC is a shortaction magnum cartridge that pairs the exceptional aerodynamics of 0.264-inch-diameter projectiles with an efficient not-quite-overbored powder chamber. The parent case is the .375 Ruger—also basically a .300 RCM necked down to 6.5 mm. In other words, it’s a factory-produced, SAAMI-approved ballistic twin to the 6.5 SAUM and similar wildcats. Formally adopted by the Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers’ Institute (SAAMI) at its June 2018 meeting, we are thrilled to introduce our hand-loads for this caliber now! Velocities run neck and neck with traditional .264 Winchester Magnum speeds and are achieved courtesy of the shorter, fatter, more efficient, effective, consistent-burning powder column. Pleasant side-effects of the efficiency are less recoil, better barrel life, and good performance in 24-inch barrels.

Choice Ammunition has taken our 100% hand-loading techniques and produce an extremely accurate, highly dependable round for the 6.5 PRC in this load. Our loading tolerances are only matched by passionate hand-loaders in their own loading rooms. Consistent seating depths, powder charges and proprietary formulas of Choice Ammunition, make this 120 Grain Barnes TTSX Lead Free round the best you can buy on the commercial market today.

The Bullet-

100-PERCENT COPPER BODY

Since its introduction in 2003, Barnes’ TSX Bullet has earned a reputation as “the perfect hunting bullet.” Now, Barnes has improved on perfection by adding a streamlined polymer tip. The new Tipped TSX features the same 100-percent copper body with multiple rings cut into the shank. It delivers the same gnat’s-eyelash accuracy and “dead right there” performance—but with an added polymer tip that boosts BC and improves long-range ballistics. The tip and a re-engineered nose cavity provide even faster expansion. Complete penetration, virtually 100-percent weight retention and four razor-sharp cutting petals that double bullet diameter means the new Tipped TSX creates more internal damage than any competing bullet. Instant expansion and perfect penetration ensures cleaner, quicker kills.

  • .264 Winchester Magnum 140 Grain Berger VLD-Hunting- The .264 Winchester Magnum is a belted, bottlenecked rifle cartridge. It was introduced in the late 1950s and early 1960s with the .338 Winchester Magnum and the .458 Winchester Magnum as one of a family of short-cased 2.5 in (64 mm) belted magnum cartridges developed by Winchester based on the .375 Holland & Holland parent case.  The .264 Winchester Magnum gained a reputation as a very flat shooting cartridge. When introduced, it was first chambered in the Winchester Model 70 Westerner rifle, which was intended for longer range shooting.

The .264 Win. Mag. is an excellent, potentially accurate, very flat-shooting cartridge capable of taking any game in the lower 48 US states, and one of the most powerful of all .264 in (6.7 mm) cartridges.

Our 100% Hand-Loaded 140 grain Berger VLD-Hunting rounds are loaded with extremely tight tolerances, producing highly accurate, consistent and reliable performance with each and every shot! Our proprietary load formulas and loading process create the finest round of ammunition available on the commercial market today we feel. If you don’t load your own ammunition- let us do it for you!

The Berger VLD Hunting bullet line features Very Low Drag (VLD) bullets that have the highest possible ballistic coefficient designed for 300 yards or more, the design incorporates a sharp nose that allows the bullet to penetrate 2″ to 3″ before it starts to expand. After the initial expansion, the bullet will shed between 40% and 85% of its weight as shrapnel into the surrounding tissue (internal organs). The combination between the shrapnel and the hydrostatic shock produces a massive wound cavity within the vital area that will be 13″ – 15″ long. This massive wound cavity results in the animal dropping fast since most go into shock after such a tremendous blow. Those animals that don’t go down immediately will soon succumb to blood pressure loss and/or organ failure producing a quick ethical kill.

    The Bullet-

Through an exclusive bonding process that eliminates voids in the bullet core, AccuBond couples Nosler’s proven copper-alloy jacket with its special lead-alloy core. The result is a bullet that flies true, penetrates deep and retains its weight, without causing extensive barrel fouling. The unique white polymer tip resists deforming and initiates expansion on impact. Nosler’s Solid Base at the rear of the bullet acts as a platform for large diameter mushrooms.

  • 6.5-300 Weatherby Magnum 140 Grain Berger VLD-Hunting-  The 6.5-300 Weatherby Magnum is a 6.5mm cartridge created by Weatherby in 2016 as its own rendition to the ever-growing 6.5mm long range rifle market. Named the 6.5-300 Weatherby Magnum, the new hot-rod round is simply the .300 Weatherby Magnum necked down to 6.5mm (0.264 inch). As the newest in Weatherby’s lineup this cartridge is designed to be in direct competition to the 26 Nosler and Claimed by Weatherby to be the fastest 6.5mm cartridge available. Designed in a similar fashion as other Weatherby cartridges it has a large for caliber case capacity resulting in high velocities. When bullets with high ballistic coefficients are used trajectories are extremely flat, allowing the projectile to retain a significant amount of energy downrange. These attributes make the 6.5-300 quite effective for long range hunting on medium-sized game.

Our 100% Hand-Loaded 140 Grain Berger VLD-Hunting  rounds are loaded with extremely tight tolerances, producing highly accurate, consistent and reliable performance with each and every shot! • 26 Nosler 140 Grain Nosler AccuBond-Hunting~ The 26 Nosler is designed as a modern 6.5mm cartridge, using recent advances in firearm technology to attain exceptionally high muzzle velocities (up to 3,400 ft/s (1,040 m/s)) and maintain an extremely flat trajectory. The overall cartridge length of 3.340 inches (84.8 mm) is the same as that of the .30-06 Springfield, allowing the use of widely available standard-length actions.

All four of Nosler’s Cartridges the .26 Nosler, .28 Nosler, .30 Nosler, and .33 Nosler are based on the same .404 Jeffery parent case. While the 26 and 28 Nosler share the same cartridge case dimensions, the 30 Nosler has a slightly shorter length to the shoulder dimension than the 26 and 28, and the 33 Nosler has a shorter shoulder dimension yet than that of the 30 Nosler.

Nosler claimed that the .26 Nosler was the most powerful commercial 6.5mm cartridge in the world, however since the release of the 6.5-300 Weatherby Magnum in 2016 it is the 2nd most powerful 6.5mm cartridge.

Choice Ammunition is proud to release the Nosler cartridges in 2018! Our 100% Hand-Loaded, premium ammunition is perfect to compliment these calibers. You will find our proprietary formulas to be loaded with extremely tight loading tolerances, providing the most reliable, accurate and dependable round of ammunition available.
