.338 Remington Ultra Magnum (RUM) 300 Grain Nosler AccuBond- The .338 Remington Ultra Magnum is a .338 caliber rifle cartridge introduced by Remington Arms in 2002. It is a beltless, rebated rim cartridge based on the .300 Remington Ultra Magnum case shortened .090″ and necked-up to accept a 0.338-inch (.338 caliber) bullet. The .338 Remington Ultra Magnum has a similar case capacity as the .338 Lapua Magnum and somewhat lower than that of the .338-378 Weatherby Magnum. It is one of the most powerful .338-caliber rounds in production.

The .338 RUM is a well balanced cartridge ideal for hunting large bodied game at close to extended ranges. There is a great deal of interest in .338″ caliber cartridges for long range shooting as well. This is specifically due to high BC mass produced bullets available.     6.5 Creedmoor 143 Hornady ELD-X~ The 6.5mm Creedmoor, designated 6.5 Creedmoor by SAAMI, is a centerfire rifle cartridge introduced in 2007 as a modification of the .30 TC, which was based on the .308 Winchester. It was designed specifically for long-range target shooting, although it is also achieving success in game hunting. Bullet for bullet, the 6.5mm Creedmoor achieves a slower muzzle velocity than longer cartridges such as the 6.5-284 Norma or magnum cartridges such as the 6.5mm Remington Magnum.     The Heat Shield tip of the Hornady ELD-X bullet defies the effects of aerodynamic heating and retains its shape to provide a perfect meplat (tip) that is always the same shape. A streamlined secant ogive with optimum boattail design, plus the highly concentric AMP bullet jackets, combined with the patent pending Heat Shield tip creates a supremely accurate, high BC match bullet. ELD-Match bullet BCs are measured with Doppler radar and corrected to standard atmospheric conditions. With high velocity, 0-400 yard impact, the bullet continually expands throughout its penetration path. The thick shank of the jacket and high Interlock ring keep the core and jacket together providing 50-60% weight retention. Upon low velocity, 400+ yard impacts, the Heat Shield tip drives backward into the bullet to initiate expansion. Exhibiting conventional expansion with a large mushroom and 85-90% retained weight the bullet provides deep penetration and large wound cavities.
