.264 Winchester Magnum 142 Grain Nosler AccuBond Long Range (ABLR)- The .264 Winchester Magnum is a belted, bottlenecked rifle cartridge. It was introduced in the late 1950s and early 1960s with the .338 Winchester Magnum and the .458 Winchester Magnum as one of a family of short-cased 2.5 in (64 mm) belted magnum cartridges developed by Winchester based on the .375 Holland & Holland parent case.  The .264 Winchester Magnum gained a reputation as a very flat shooting cartridge. When introduced, it was first chambered in the Winchester Model 70 Westerner rifle, which was intended for longer range shooting.

The .264 Win. Mag. is an excellent, potentially accurate, very flat-shooting cartridge capable of taking any game in the lower 48 US states, and one of the most powerful of all .264 in (6.7 mm) cartridges.

Choice Ammunition has taken our 100% hand-loading techniques and produce an extremely accurate, highly dependable round for the .264 Winchester in this load. Our loading tolerances are only matched by passionate hand-loaders in their own loading rooms. Consistent seating depths, powder charges and proprietary formulas of Choice Ammunition, make this 142 grain Nosler LR AccuBond round the best you can buy on the commercial market today.

The AccuBond-Long Range (LR) bullet line was developed in response to the escalating demand from long-range hunters asking for a hunting bullet that could keep up with today’s level of high-grade optics and ultra-high velocity cartridges in order to stretch practical shooting yardages past 1,000 yards; yet still perform on big-game animals.

The unique tapered jacket and proprietary bonding process of the AccuBond-Long Range (LR) bullet permits rapid expansion for effective energy transfer and maximum weight retention allowing for deep penetration and significant tissue damage across a broad range of velocities. Engineered for devastating performance at all practical distances, the bullet’s sleek, high-performance boat-tail base combined with the polymer tip and long ogive provides accuracy, consistency and the down range punch necessary for clean kills in any situation. Holding up to the most extreme velocities, Nosler’s AccuBond-Long Range (LR) bullet is built to perform.

    The Bullet-

Image result for berger vld hunting

The Berger VLD Hunting bullet line features Very Low Drag (VLD) bullets that have the highest possible ballistic coefficient designed for 300 yards or more, the design incorporates a sharp nose that allows the bullet to penetrate 2″ to 3″ before it starts to expand. After the initial expansion, the bullet will shed between 40% and 85% of its weight as shrapnel into the surrounding tissue (internal organs). The combination between the shrapnel and the hydrostatic shock produces a massive wound cavity within the vital area that will be 13″ – 15″ long. This massive wound cavity results in the animal dropping fast since most go into shock after such a tremendous blow. Those animals that don’t go down immediately will soon succumb to blood pressure loss and/or organ failure producing a quick ethical kill.

    The Bullet-

Nosler has blended the accuracy of its Custom Competition bullet jackets with its own ultra-precise, lead-alloy cores to create the performance standard for match rifle and pistol bullets. The hollow point provides a small meplat for reduced drag and increased aerodynamic efficiency while the pronounced boat-tail design provides efficient flight characteristics over a wide range of velocities.

    The Bullet-

Through an exclusive bonding process that eliminates voids in the bullet core, AccuBond couples Nosler’s proven copper-alloy jacket with its special lead-alloy core. The result is a bullet that flies true, penetrates deep and retains its weight, without causing extensive barrel fouling. The unique white polymer tip resists deforming and initiates expansion on impact. Nosler’s Solid Base at the rear of the bullet acts as a platform for large diameter mushrooms.

    The Bullet-

    100-PERCENT COPPER BODY

Since its introduction in 2003, Barnes’ TSX Bullet has earned a reputation as “the perfect hunting bullet.” Now, Barnes has improved on perfection by adding a streamlined polymer tip. The new Tipped TSX features the same 100-percent copper body with multiple rings cut into the shank. It delivers the same gnat’s-eyelash accuracy and “dead right there” performance—but with an added polymer tip that boosts BC and improves long-range ballistics. The tip and a re-engineered nose cavity provide even faster expansion. Complete penetration, virtually 100-percent weight retention and four razor-sharp cutting petals that double bullet diameter means the new Tipped TSX creates more internal damage than any competing bullet. Instant expansion and perfect penetration ensures cleaner, quicker kills.

    The Bullet-

The Heat Shield tip of the Hornady ELD-X bullet defies the effects of aerodynamic heating and retains its shape to provide a perfect meplat (tip) that is always the same shape. A streamlined secant ogive with optimum boattail design, plus the highly concentric AMP bullet jackets, combined with the patent pending Heat Shield tip creates a supremely accurate, high BC match bullet. ELD-Match bullet BCs are measured with Doppler radar and corrected to standard atmospheric conditions. With high velocity, 0-400 yard impact, the bullet continually expands throughout its penetration path. The thick shank of the jacket and high Interlock ring keep the core and jacket together providing 50-60% weight retention. Upon low velocity, 400+ yard impacts, the Heat Shield tip drives backward into the bullet to initiate expansion. Exhibiting conventional expansion with a large mushroom and 85-90% retained weight the bullet provides deep penetration and large wound cavities.
